Slippers
The most important thing is to contact a good shoemaker first to get a template of the shoe style you want in your size. You then send the template to us and we will paint a design to fit. We can do anything from Coats of Arms to cartoon characters! When you have finished the needlework you return it to the same shoemaker to be made into the slippers.

Furniture
Any of the designs in this site can be adapted to fit a particular piece of furniture - chairs, stools, firescreens etc. We need either a good template or accurate measurements. We can then get one of the artists to repaint it for you so that it is "Made to measure". We can also use your own ideas, or take inspiration from the furniture itself. Alternatively, if you provide us with a picture of the furniture we can look through our extensive collection for something appropriate.

Portraits
Tapisserie has a team of talented artists headed by Jo Wakeham, who is particularly good at animal portraits. Please send us a few clear photos of your pets, with an idea of the size you want and Jo can paint a wonderful copy. It is very useful for us to have more than one picture so that the colours and expression can be captured - it's very rare for the animal to pose for long enough to get a perfect set up, so we can patch together a good composition.

  

Specials
Occasionally a client will have an idea that we have never done before, which is great fun for us. We have done backgammon boards, bell pulls, belts, luggage straps - so long as you have someone who can mount the finished piece, we are delighted to provide the canvas and threads. Other special projects are Christmas stockings. We do have a selection as stock, but most people find that they want to personalise them with favourite toys or hobbies and the name. Once again our resident artist, Jo, can sketch a design for you to approve, incorporating all your favourite things. Once finished we have a service to make them up into the finished article, all ready for Christmas Eve.

Handbags
If none of the designs on the handbag page are quite right we can paint something especially for you, in your colours to any of the shapes available. This is particularly nice for a really special occasion such as a wedding, birthday or anniversary. Monograms, favourite flowers, personal momentos can all be incorporated into the final design - just let your imagination run riot.
