Tapisserie started as a hobby shop which over the years developed into a small business that relies on a talented and dedicated team of artists, sewers, embroiderers, cushion, accessories and handbag makers, teachers and shop assistants. Since we are unable to photograph everyone on the team, we would like to salute Harry, Dinesh, Valerie, Marika, Thierry, Liane, Marianne, Claudine, Nathalie, Hamad, Jo, Heather, Andrew, Nouhla, Emmanoel, Masako, Helen, Eddy, Jack, Djien and Kasia.

Hayat Palumbo is in charge of working with the artists on new designs, creating handbag shapes, matching canvases to wool and overseeing the general running of the shop.
Petra is Hayat's daughter, a graduate from the London College of Fashion who works full-time at Tapisserie. She launched T for Tapisserie's debut collection of unique embellished clutch bags at a Trunk Show in June at The Belgraves Hotel London. Petra is also in the process of completing her certificate in Technical Hand-Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework and regularly updates the blog which you can view under the link "Blog".
Jo is an extraordinary artist who has painted more special orders than we can begin to count, as well as painting and designing stock. She has been working for Tapisserie since day one.
Patsi, Jo's sister, has also been involved with Tapisserie since it opened its doors. Roll ups, tidy totes, embroidery bags, spec cases and Christmas ornaments are all sewn by her. She is a perfectionist and has the lightest touch with the needle.
Mala has an natural feel for beading and does beautiful work especially on handbags and Christmas stockings. She is also a most patient needlework teacher and steps in as and when we need a helping hand on the shop floor.
Katie joined us in the Summer of 2013. She is from the West Midlands and has a degree in Textile Design studying at Nottingham Trent University. On the shop floor Katie has developed quite a following with our customers while at the same time has a good grasp of design and accounts! Since working for Tapisserie Katie has discovered her new found love for needlepoint and works on customer projects in her spare time.
Sally joined us in the Autumn of 2013. She is from Staffordshire and has a degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design studying at Leeds College of Art. She has a passion for hand embroidery and needlepoint. Sally enjoys serving the customers on the shop floor and working alongside Katie. Behind the scenes in the Tapisserie basement Sally also works on customer embroidery and beading projects.

Ros is Tapisserie's excellent bookkeeper, no penny can escape her watchful eye!
Michèle is French, based in Paris and produces the most exquisite needlework designs. She has collaborated with Tapisserie for over twenty years.
Jane joined Tapisserie as shop assistant when she was twenty-one and left eleven years later. Her sunny disposition is a hard act to follow and is remembered by many a customer to this day. She is still involved with Tapisserie by doing embroidery projects for customers from home.
